Complement! This is the ideal word to define the albums to be discussed in the lines below.
Creating the real full work, the three featured albums in this month of
August put together lyrics that combine perfectly with the music and
the album art. They are: Libra and Imago Mortis, from Rio de Janeiro, and the Sao Paulo’s Oficina G3!
Vida - The Play of Change
Band: Imago Mortis / Label: Die Hard Records
Have you ever thought what happens in the mind of a terminally ill
patient, isolated in a hospital room just waiting for the time of his
death?
This idea was the concept of the second disk by this Rio’s quintet, who
managed to elicit strong emotions in the eleven tracks of this album of
2002!
"Vida"
is a concept album, which contains several characters, who interpret
the different emotions that passes through the mind of the sick, such
as anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance and passage to another
world, and each of these phases have different climates that explore
many styles of metal such as Doom, Death, Black, Thrash, Traditional Metal with, until then, unthinkable operatic vocals and keyboards in the best Hammond style.
These different "emotions" are felt in the heavy "Pain", "Envy" and "The Silent King" (which, from the middle until the end, has a gloomy atmosphere), the emotional "Terminal Christ" and the outcome, with "Saudade".
Besides the musical concept, “Vida” brings us a multimedia stream, where in a kind of oracle you see the key to many answers you seek!
Excellent work of this band, that if follows its tradition of releasing
albums every four years, will just throw something up in 2010!

Band: Libra / Label: Sony Music

lyrics, the “dark” visual, straight hits, a "fat" bass and somber
vocals, regardless if they’re guttural or clean!
In this debut of this musician of Rio, we have a mix of old school and contemporary style, since lines ranging from Sisters of Mercy to bands like Sentenced and Paradise Lost, with a pop "sauce”, which leaves the disk accessible and enjoyable.
After the intro, the album opens with the very heavy "Sangue" (opening track of the first season of “A Lei e O Crime”),
which is uncommon even by the standards of style, with an outstandin
lyric marked with lyricism (the works’s strength) and good riffs. But
it's not only by weight that the work lives ...
