Last month, I commented on some bands that inserted new elements into their music, and now I bring works of three bands that haven't did any exotic mixes in their work, and even then, they continued to provide them with plenty of character, bordering on perfection . They are: "Qyiamat" of Ceara's Hostile Inc., "Pedra II" of São Paulo's Pedra and cheered "Dare To Dream" of Santos' Shadowside

Pedra II
Band: Pedra / Independent Seal
Formed by musicians more than competents and who have been in bands like Harppia, Patrulha do Espaço, Big Balls e Pitbulls On Crack, just to name a few, they come with their second work with some subtle differences with the debut, striking and positive ones.
Starting with the cover art, which comes in the form of a comic book that tells the journey of a boy who ... Well, just taking in hand the booklet to understand the concept. Musically, the band dropped a little the influence from the seventies hard rock and ended up diving for something more intimate, with slight touches of Brazilian Popular Music, root samba, national blues and rock of the 80s, making a delightful and enjoyable music, ideal for those moments of reflection and introspection (I believe that many do that sometimes).
Don't believe? Let me give some examples: the bluesy "Nossos Dias" (contagious), the closing with the melancholy "Meu mundo é seu", to the excelent reread of Sérgio Sampaio's "Filme de Terror" , which even came to play on the rock radios, and the retro "Jefferson Messias".
Simple and catchy, what would we want more?

Qiyamat
Band: Hostile Inc. / Independent Seal
The greath revelation of the year 2008, this sextet already have more than a decade of road, which has been compensated with the release of their first work, presenting a mix of influences, sounding like a crossover of classical music, traditional metal and death metal, which lead us at various times to the banging and to question why great works don't have their deserved recognition ...
... But that's another story and the business here is the music itself, which, as I said in the previous paragraph is very, very well done, especially the keyboards that were played as classical piano, giving a death knell to the sound - without souding black metal. The shrill voice on the line of bands like Carcass and Slavery (exceptional set from Bahia) makes us delirious with sounds like "Fast Motion", the opening with "Alea Jacta Est", The Universe Outside" and especially "In Vitro" and Sheep And Wolves", which have some parts of the triangle (yes, that which is used in forró), which very well end up marrying the band's music and without sounding and opportunistic!
