Last month, I commented on some bands that inserted new elements into their music, and now I bring works of three bands that haven't did any exotic mixes in their work, and even then, they continued to provide them with plenty of character, bordering on perfection . They are:
"Qyiamat" of Ceara's
Hostile Inc.,
"Pedra II" of São Paulo's
Pedra and cheered
"Dare To Dream" of Santos'
Shadowside!
Pedra II
Band: Pedra / Independent SealFormed by musicians more than competents and who have been in bands like
Harppia,
Patrulha do Espaço,
Big Balls e
Pitbulls On Crack, just to name a few, they come with their second work with some subtle differences with the debut, striking and positive ones.
Starting with the cover art, which comes in the form of a comic book that tells the journey of a boy who ... Well, just taking in hand the booklet to understand the concept. Musically, the band dropped a little the
influence from the
seventies hard rock and ended up diving for something more intimate, with slight touches of
Brazilian Popular Music,
root samba,
national blues and
rock of the 80s, making a delightful and enjoyable music, ideal for those moments of reflection and introspection (I believe that many do that sometimes).
Don't believe? Let me give some examples: the
bluesy "
Nossos Dias" (contagious), the closing with the melancholy "
Meu mundo é seu", to the excelent reread of
Sérgio Sampaio's "
Filme de Terror" , which even came to play on the rock radios, and the retro "
Jefferson Messias".
Simple and catchy, what would we want more?
