"The two sides of the same story"
A mixture of feelings marked the show of this more than consecrated brazilian band!
Before talking about them, it is worth mentioning that once again we could see the SESC
crowded (all the tickets sold out some days before the concert), also
demonstrating the wide acceptance by the public criticism of the album “Bravo”, launched in 2007. And the expectations increased even more, since the band was promoting their new work, called “Original Sin”, which is a remake of the first album, “Dr. Sin”
plus two new songs, and a question hung in the air: would the band make
a "best of" of their career or play his new work solely?
On the first chords of “Fly Away”, this question was clarified: it would be an overview of all the victorious career of Dr. Sin. So, it would be just sitting back and enjoy another great show, right? Not so much ...
It might seem I'm being unfair, but the band turned out to be so
"relaxed" that ended up taking some of the bright of the show, making
it tedious at times - as in the jam session, which had excerpts of "Jump" (Van Halen) and "Perfect Strangers" (Deep Purple), when they could have performed more songs like "Karma", "Down In the Treenches", "Think It Over" ... Musics that undoubtedly were missed ...
But let's talk about the good side of the show, where the trio, accompanied by keyboardist Rodrigo Simon leaves no stone unturned in outstanding classics such as "Nomad", "Miracles" (one of the most beautiful solos by Edu Ardanuy), "Revolution” ," Fire ","Drowning In Sin", a beautiful re-reading for "It's Alright" (Black Sabbath), with the drummer Ivan in microphone and a roadie on his instrument (if all the relaxing moments were like this, the show would be perfect), and "Futebol, Mulher e Rock And Roll" (which closed the show).

But the songs that touched me were the ones of the “new” debut "Emotional Catastrophe", "Dirty Woman", "Howling In The Shadows" and the “top ten” ballad "You Stole My Heart" (where, for once, I was in tears), in addition to "Nephelins" (very heavy and progressive, it will be the soundtrack of a movie that will be published in 2010) and "You Are My Love", an AOR that seems to came out of the 80’s, very nice!
There's no way to don’t mention the performance of the guitarist Edu Ardanuy,
because while watching the show we feel that the guy "isolates" himself
from everything and everyone, and when we don’t expect, uses all his
technique for the team - something that only the really talented can do!
