Arjen Lucassen. Surely you've heard or read this name somewhere. Responsible for projects of great quality, but not so well known worldwide, as Ambeon (who left fans stunned with the beautiful voice of Astrid Van Der Veen, who was only 14 years then) and Star One, and for great successes of the music world, as the rock opera / Ayreon, the 48 years old dutch is considered by many one of the great geniuses of contemporaneous music.
Marcela Bovio. Equivalent in beauty and musical talent, the Mexican, who in addition to and enviable singing is gifted in composition too, stood out so greatly in her participation in the project Ayreon - The Human Equation, when acted as one of the singers, that managed to get much more than only the praises of critics.
"The response from critics and fans to Marcela's vocals were incredible. Everyone was hallucinating." - Arjen explains. "Anyway, when she was recording her participation in the Ayreon project, I had noticed that she had so many talents that I regretted not being able to use them in time. So, hating to leave a good thing go blank, I decided to build a completely new project centered on the voice of Marcela, and her talents to writing. "
And so came Stream of Passion. In order to allow Marcela free to create music as she wanted, Arjen didn't chain the band to any musical style , although it is possible to note in the album "Embrace the Storms (2005)," the band's first, a clear tendency for the symphonic metal and progressive metal.
[Blockbreaker]
Through the Internet, Arjen found musicians of great quality, but relatively unknown on the world stage: the Dutch Davy Mickers (drums) and Johan van Stratum (bass), the Mexican Alejandro Millán (keyboards / piano) and the magnificent Lori Linstruth (guitar solo) - an American living in Sweden, which was discovered in a group of fans of the Ayreon at Yahoo. Completing the band, Arjen (guitar) and Marcela (vocals / violin / lyrics).
Remember that Marcela and Alejandro, countrymen, already worked together in the band Elfonia.
Stream of Passion released his first album through the label InsideOut Music, containing memorable songs like Deceiver, Passion and Out In The Real World.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, Arjen Lucassen, Lori Linstruth and Alejandro Millán left the band in mid-2007. Arjen embraced a new personal project, Lori became his manager and Alejandro started his own band, Hello Madness, where he works as a composer, vocalist and keyboardist.
In 2008, with new musicians making up their ranks (Jeffrey Revet on keyboards, Erik Hazebroek on rhythm guitar and Stephan Schultz on lead guitar), Stream of Passion signed with Napalm Records and is working on her new CD, which, still, has no defined date for release.
